Sneak Peek

This is a post that was highly requested and can be seen on almost every other blog as well - the content of my purse. What you see below is the minimum (!) of what I carry with me every day. Of course it doesn´t look as organised when it´s in my bag, most of the times I´m not even able to find what I´m looking for because it´s such a mess in there. But for you guys I pulled it all out and here you see what´s normally hidden in the dark shallows of my bag.

1. Keychain from Anne-Marie Herckes:
this was a birthdaypresent from my babe last year and I love it sooo much - very classy indeed!

2. Car keys:
I have a little, round, fast, red, cute, bowl-looking Gokart named Fiat 500 with the Italian flag on it (for the swag factor) and I´m in love.

3. Wallet from Louis Vuitton:
This is the old wallet from my boyfriend, he gave it to me because he thought my other wallets were ugly. Well, thank you babe :)

4. iPhone:
No need to explain this one. I´m amazed that there is no synonym such as "life" or "irreplaceable" coming up when you look it up in Google.

5. Driving License:
Yes, I still have the old one; never lost it and proud of the grubby piece of paper I´m carrying around.

6. "Firn" candy:
There.Is.No.Better.Candy.Out.There.      Period. (icy mint and chocolate - this is perfection)

7. Tee:
A leftover from summer. I started playing Golf 2 years ago together with my babe and we both love it, even though he was playing like Tiger Woods within 2 weeks and I´m still on the "sorry that my ball hit you but I´m a beginner" level. Life sucks.

8. GPS:
I´d be totally lost in this jungle of one-way streets that calls itself Vienna. I tried to find my way in the first district only once without my navigation system, but got so lost that I thought I´d never find my way out.

9. Bobby pins and hair ties:
My hair is pretty long and when I leave it loose and untied, I get really nervous after, let´s say 20 minutes and I have to tie it together even though I spent 1 hour blow-drying and straightening them. So it´s better for me and my environment if I always carry some hair ties.

10. Pen:
Can´t think of anything creative to say about this pen. I use it for writing.

11. Ear plugs:
Live savers! I´ve gotten so used to sleeping with ear plugs and hearing my heart beat while falling asleep that there is no way I could live without them anymore.

12. and 13. Make-up:
Always have a spare foundation and concealer in my bag for refreshing my make-up when I´m planning on going for drinks right after work. This is very necessary because I really do look like a zombie after 8 hours spent in front of a computer.

14. Perfume:
There´s no harm in smelling good - oh what I´d give for if all the smelly people in the underground thought the same way.

15. Lips:
Always have at least 4 or 5 options of lipstick, lipbalm, lipgloss with me. I´m changing it during the day depending on my mood. You know those rings that change color depending on how you feel - just have a look at my lips, that´s almost the same thing.

16. Sunglasses:
Love, love, love my Ray Ban Aviators. No better sunglasses out there - I´m really not that cool kind of chic, but when I wear them paired with my leather jacket, I feel like the most hardcore person out there. No joke:

What I only realised after this post is that the interior of my bag also tells a whole lot about my life.
So tell me - what is it that you can´t live without and carry around?

Christmas Gift Guide: Best Friend

I have to admit that Christmas is my favorite season of the year. I am one of those girls that starts counting down the days until Christmas somewhen in summer, I sing those cheesy Christmas songs and absolutely love Mariah Carey´s "All I want for Christmas", I already know what I give to all my friends and family by the latest of September and finally, on the 24th of December I am a bundle of joy and get on everybody´s nerves by jumping around like a crazy person. So if you Grinches out there are a severe case of cluelessness when it comes to giving presents, here is my Christmas gift guide series, starting with a shopping guide for your best friend!

Like Santa.

Here´s the outfit that I wore last Wednesday when I met up with Vicky at "Winter im MQ". Since I bought this parka in Barcelona, I haven´t really worn another jacket because I love it so much. It´s warm, functional and stylish and the olive color is so easy to combine with almost every other color. Those red jeans are from Zara from last year and in this combination with the white sweater/booties and the socks, I look like Santa  -but I love it - love everything that comes with christmas season :)

Bye Bye, Google Friend Connect!

It´s not that I don´t love all of my readers, but after a while of blogging I just came to the conclusion that GFC is more of a platform for "I follow you now, follow me back?" people. Well that´s OK for many, but for me it makes no sense to follow someone only to get a higher number of readers for yourself - therefore, I´m going to delete Google Friend Connect by the end of this day. I think that the platforms Bloglovin and Facebook are better spheres to follow the blogs that you´re REALLY interested in. So my honest apologies to all my GFC readers who are sincere about the interest in my blog, but if it´s like that and you still want to follow,
PLEASE MOVE OVER to:

Thank you so much for understanding and for your support!

Weekend Plans

After commuting between Vienna and Salzburg almost every weekend since I live here, I´m very excited to spend the next two days in town. Me and my babe have lots of fun things planned, including a dinner at famous "Kim kocht" (we´ve been on the waitlist for 4 months until we got this table),
a party at Kattus champagne producer, a shopping spree at the designer outlet in Parndorf and some drinks/dinner with our closest friends at Figls. Since Vicky is not only my friend but my bad conscious as well and has the self discipline of a soldier when it comes to doing sports (see her post about running outdoors in winter here), I´m planning to get some thermo sportswear at the Nike or Adidas outlet and maybe we´ll visit Michael Kors and Diesel as well :) What are your plans for this weekend? Looking forward to something as well?

Winter im MQ.

I met up with Vicky yesterday for some Punsch and chitchat at the wintermarket at Museums Quarter in Vienna, "Winter im MQ". I love the icepavillions that they have built up and the interior is lined with sheep skin - so cozy to sit there with a hot punsch! Every café has it´s own pavillion and serves pure deliciousness in form of punsch, hot wine and other goodies. There is also a curling track and some light installations as well as the "Winter Sounds" with live DJ´s for entertainment. I have to admit that the overall feeling was not very winterly because it is just too warm and there is no snow at all - but when we were sitting inside the pavillion, I felt like somewhere in the middle of iceland. If you are in Vienna before Christmas, you should definitely visit Winter im MQ!

Vienna, for women only

I love my parents and my whole family to death, they are just the best people in the world. So when I decided to move to Vienna, it really wasn´t easy for all of us - leaving the people that mean most to me, including my little brother and my boyfriend behind and starting something completely new on my own. But to make my experience as pleasurable as possible, my daddy got me this chic little guide to Vienna´s hotspots - for women only. It´s the perfect book for every girl that lives in Vienna or  just visits for a city trip, giving lots of tips on where to shop, go for dinner or take in some culture. There are also some interviews with interesting women that live here as well with their view on Vienna. An additional plus is the cute gold and red cover - sooo pretty.
In my situation, this was the perfect gift and I always carry it with me - thank you dad!

English or German?

After writing a blog for more than 6 months, I´m starting to rethink my decision to write it in English. Mainly because I took a closer look at my statistics and saw that 90 % of my readers come from German-speaking countries. Secondly because I feel like I want to express myself more and with English not being the mother tongue, I´m limited when it comes to writing texts. I really like the solution of Anna, who is introducing her blogposts with a few sentences in English for her international readers and writes the actual posts in German. To help me with my decision, please tell me what you prefer (you can also leave a comment) and fill out this quick little survey. You can vote until the end of this month!

Simple

A while ago I had a shopping date with Vicky. Because I had to wait a little until she arrived, I decided to look around some shops that I usually don´t even enter, in this case Tally Weijl. When I was 14 I loved their style of clothes, but now, 10 years later - not so much. BUT the store visit turned into a total jackpot when I saw this burgundy skirt (color is way darker in reality, not coming out true on the pictures) hanging beneath dozens of other clothes. One look at the price (12 € !) was enough and I bought it. So yesterday when our good friend Chris celebrated his birthday at Freiraum in Vienna, I went for a simple red and black outfit. I scored the bag at Primark on Friday and my top was from H&M, so this outfit (if you don´t count the shoes) was worth 31 € all together - seems like it was a cheap night as well. The moral of the story? Sometimes it´s really not necessary to spend loads of money on clothes if you have a little luck and keep your eyes open for less expensive options as well!

DIY : dotted canvas

A while ago I stumbled upon an amazing Instagram account ("thepinkdiary") and saw a super easy DIY project to glam up my dresser where I also keep my jewellery. Now, the owner of The Pink Diary also opened her own Tumblr, "The Silky Diary" - have a look at my blogroll on the right column of my blog to find her. Anyway, with that much inspiration I instantly wanted to do this pretty little gold dotted canvas myself.
And here is what you´ll need for this cute and artsy picture:

-  a square canvas (mine is 40x 40cm which is a little too big, i´d recommend 30x30cm)
- craft glue (should be a strong one)
- punch press for circles
- gold and glitter paper

Here is what you´ll do: punch, pattern, glue.

FINISH.

Rather easy, right?

OOTD via Instagram

Good morning my lovely readers - hopefully most of you still cuddle up in bed! While you enjoy your Saturday morning and read this, I´ll already be busy and at work. Doesn´t matter, this way I can already update you with my ootd - decided to wear something cozy today (aaaand love the color combination khaki/bordeaux), even though my outfits for work are and should be very classy all the time - but hey, it´s saturday, right? Enjoy your weekend, lovelies!

My favorite spot.

Even though I told you that I didn´t want to show you my apartment, I decided that this little corner is too beautiful to keep it to myself. It was the first thing that was finished or let´s say almost finished - I´m sure that I will add some more pictures or random deco objects to the shelf. Everytime I sit on my sofa and look at the wall vis-à-vis, I´m happy with the way it looks. Also, I have to laugh everytime I look at those fake flowers, because my friend Judith simply hates them with all her heart but I love the pop of color they bring to my living room - and that I don´t have to take care of them :)
I hope you´re not getting sick of all the apartment-related posts because I´m not done yet :)

Inspire me please.

As you all know, I moved from Salzburg to Vienna recently. Moving was more work than I thought but I really loved furnishing my apartment and creating my own home for the first time. It seems like I was almost too motivated about decorating, painting and building together furniture in the first few months and slowly my energy dropped. There it was, a big hole that left no power but for chilling on my super big sofa.
I just needed a little break from my apartment, but now I´m back and ready to finish what I started. Still so many things have to be done and I was looking for inspiration on how to design my entryway or to decorate little, spare corners of my flat. And while the internet offers loads of information and inspiration, there is nothing better and more inspiring out there than a beautiful book. I came along these two below - one about decorating with colors and one about creating unique rooms with a personal touch. I simply love both of them and they already did their job - my inner list of projects for the apartment is growing already again! (want to get them as well? simply click on the titles)

This is how I store my coffeetable books, since my coffeetables aren´t big enough to hold them:

feels like home.

ever since i started my blog i wanted to have such a perfect space for my posts like the other bloggers had, but never had enough skills to do it myself and never wanted to spend lots of money on my blogdesign. if you look at my favorite blogs in my blogroll, such as hrh collection, cupcakes and cashmere or the blog of my good friend vicky, bikinis and passports, they all have one thing in common - the design is pretty simple but the layout seems somehow amazing. so i decided to finally go on the hunt for a better design for my blog, looked up the whole internet for a perfect one until i came along some etsy stores that offered girly but stylish premade templates. i love the ones that leap design offered (for more info, scroll to the bottom of my blog and click on leap design´s logo) and got mine. now, when i look at my blog, i am so happy with how everything looks - it kind of feels like home now. how do you like my new design?
